ADJUSTING A CUFF STYLE BRACELET

ADJUSTING A CUFF STYLE BRACELET

Celtic Love Knot Bracelets

Major adjustment should be done just one time so that it will always slip on easily without scraping your skin without forcing it.

After adjusting the bracelet, ideally, it should not rotate around the wrist or fall off. This is a sign that the opening is too large. The gap between the ends, should be just right to push onto the wrist from the narrow side of the wrist.

How to tighten or loosen a cuff:

These cuffs have been designed so that they can be slightly opened or closed for a perfect the fit. Keep in mind that this is an initial adjustment to be made only a few times in order to get it just right. Bending (plasticly deforming) the cuff every single time you put it on/take it off will cause work hardening over time and will eventually break it.

To make it larger: You can do so by using your hands to alter it. Don’t worry, it won’t break easily! However, be sure to bend the cuff only at the ends closer to the gap rather than the TOP of the bracelet. Its important to avoid any gemstone that would be set on top.  Gently pull the ends near the gap out on both sides.

To make it smaller: This bracelet can be adjusted down to fit a smaller wrist, as long as the opening is still large enough to slip it on the wrist from the side. If your wrist is so small that the opening is too narrow to slide on sideways as shown in the image, then this bracelet is too large for you and will need to be adjusted by a jeweler. Please contact The Sunstone Store for a solution.

NARROWEST – SIDE OF THE WRIST: To put the bracelet on, always approach it from this angle:

Opening is large enough to slip on from the narrow side of the wrist.

SHOULD BE LOOSE INOUGH TO BE COMFORTABLE WHEN FLEXING YOUR WRIST

Once it is on, be sure there is still enough play in the size to run up & down the wrist slightly and does not pinch. The fit can be adjusted to be comfortable for you.

If your wrist is flatter in shape, you can adjust by gently and carefully squeezing top to bottom, but never change the shape on top, only flatten the ends near the gap.

If your wrist is more rounded in shape, you can adjust by gently and carefully squeezing the ends near the gap in.  Again, you will want to avoid the center/top where a gemstone or other design on may be located on top.
