Our Green Oregon Sunstone Ring is a rare beauty! The Sunstone in this ring came from Sunstone Butte Mine in Southeastern Oregon, which has become known for its large green gems. From this particular mine (and no other to date), about 75% of the sunstones have green coloration, many with bluish green “teal” hues.
Most sunstones have yellow, orange, or brown body color. Green is extremely rare. Small inclusions create a reddish or golden sheen on top of any body color, while larger inclusions create attractive, glittery reflections. Oregon Sunstone inclusions are copper which gives it unique color variation.
