Our Mokume-Gane Sway Earrings make dressing up fun. Each earring has a unique pattern and is set with a light peach sunstone swaying dangle.
*Mokume Gane (Japanese for “Wood Grain Metal”)- Is an ancient forging technique, used by the Samurai in the decoration of the infamous Katana swords. The technique requires two or more precious metals; in our case, we use sterling silver and copper.
Oregon Sunstones are 100% natural and never treated, because of this, there is a lot of natural variation in color. Your Oregon Sunstone may vary slightly in color from the Oregon Sunstones pictured above.
A talented Jewelry Artist who works in Mokume-gane, Elyse Douglas has spent over 40 years perfecting her craft. Each sheet of Mokume-Gane he uses is handcrafted using the techniques of Shakudo or Shibuichi and sometimes both are utilized to create stunning works of art, all featuring an Oregon Sunstone.
Each piece should be considered a one-of-a-kind as the pattern you see cannot be duplicated, but he can recreate each of these lovely designs. If one of his beautiful items catches your attention and is currently unavailable, please contact us and we can help you purchase over the phone or take a custom order.
